Danakil has been a reggae and independent music activist since 2001 and has been touring the world for over 15 years, delivering hundreds of hot lives that are a big part of the band’s success. After 4 studio albums, 2 lives, and 2 “DUB” albums, the collective has lost none of its strength, its desire, and is back with a new rough demoulding project. Entitled “La Rue Raisonne”, this 5th opus puts the group back on the front of the militant and committed French-speaking scene. The first single, “32 Mars” was a song composed on the fringe of the concerts organised by the group and their entourage in support of the Nuit Debout movement. Musically, the band has continued to evolve, relying on homemade beatmakers to strengthen their productions.
The result is a new generation of roots reggae, well anchored in the air of the times, with a mixed music, a sincere humanism and the desire to say things as they come, to make a different voice heard. Special attention was also paid to mixing the album in a 100% analog studio, allowing the musicians to deliver a robust album with heavy bass and a real depth of sound. Danakil has once again chosen to indulge himself by inviting the cream of the world and reggae scene. The German singer Patrice is thus present on the tracklist by sharing with Balik (singer of Danakil) the title ” Paris la Nuit “, a nocturnal tribute to the Parisian capital. Danakil invites a great team of singers on the title ” World of Reggae Music “, a declaration of love for the musical style that binds all the speakers : Anthony B, Flavia Coelho, Nattali Rize, Josh de The Skints, Brahim, Volodia, Yaniss Odua, Natty Jean and U-Roy. Produced, distributed and published by their label Baco Records, founded by the members of the band in 2012, which is also undergoing significant development, this new project is an example of French self-production. by @danakil
