The singer Horacio Blanco from Venezuela presented a sneak peek of Fresh, his first solo album. Accompanied by musicians who accompany him on his new adventure, Horacio held a listening session where he presented the first three songs from the album that will be released this year 2023.
As the frontman of Desorden Público Venezuelan band, Horacio’s has decided to expand his creative horizons and create a new repertoire for a new ensemble. With Víctor Morles on keyboards, Raymond Mariño on electric bass, Lerrnys Hernández on drums, and Horacio on vocals and electric guitars, the new songs are presented in an alternative rock format. The album is an experiment in which influences are unashamedly vented, ranging from The Police, Devo, B-52’s, Pink Floyd, The Doors or Oasis to dubstep, trap, reggaeton and bolero textures.
The first song presented, Conexión, shows a very mature side of the artist’s musical work. The song talks about breakups and departures while taking us through sounds that range from the 80s to the 2000s. Sin Alma is an intense ballad in which sex diversity is respectfully and poetically approached through the narration of a heartbreaking lesbian heartbreak. Lastly, Greetings from Caracas reviews the artist’s never-ending inspirational cord with his hometown, now from not only a realistic but also a reconciliatory perspective.
The engineering of these themes has counted with the valuable talent and creativity of the Venezuelan multi-Grammy winner Jean Sánchez and his team at EBD Récords Caracas as well as the incredible voices of the singers of the Ensamble B11, the support and advice of urban music producer Víctor Soprano Fernández, and the logistical support of producer Ana Díaz. In conclusion, Fresh promises to be an album full of experimentation and musical maturity, a work worth waiting for from Horacio Blanco.
