Natalie Dessay

The French singer with multiple awards gives us her version of Schubert’s lieder, these poems sung symbols of German romanticism and usually intended for men’s voices. Accompanied by the pianist Philippe Cassard, she endeavors to make sensitive the emotional frame of the work. Odes of love and dreams, the words of poets Goethe, Schiller, Klopstock and Heine also evoke sombre and disturbing landscapes. A melancholy transcended here by the simple melodies and the clear and pure voice of the soprano.
